LEDs—from Porsche!
I just noticed this in the new legacy parts notice.
This could solve the search for better lighting in our Boxsters.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1734722345.jpg |
Yes…
….they launched those last year.
$250 USA. |
Yup, I installed those as Hi-Beams in my Litronics. Way better than any existing H7, no doubt.
https://986forum.com/forums/show-tell-gallery/68234-brans-986-seal-gray-anatomy-29.html There are legal Philips and Osram LEDs available now, too. And legal parking light LEDs, too. SADLY not (yet) for the Litronics, as they have a different socket. |
New 986 factory halogens now come with leds. Not as good as real projector LEDs but brighter than halogens.

So unfortunately there is a lot of qualification work and costs for higher-level expertises involved, because there is a certificate (which you have to show at the vehicle inspection, for example), which confirms the use of the LED in a lens designed for halogen.
Unfortunately, this is very expensive because bureaucratic -- at least in europe. |
