I had a dent removed by paintless dent repair that was done perfectly - it was smaller but in the same area of the rear fender... $150 a year ago and took about an hour. I am very satisfied with the result

Hmmm. Maybe a question best posed to your local PDR shop.

My dent was smaller and I had no idea how much they would charge so I went to thebusiness and asked... that's the only way you will know so give it a try and, if you don't like the quote don't have them do the work

I've used a great PDR guy a few times. Since they are all "independent" I would suggest you contact a couple of different local PDR people in your area. Often, different ones will quote different amounts.

But be careful since since price shouldn't be your sole consideration. It's also not a bad idea to see some examples of their work or at least contact some of their references.

The really good PDR guys are fantastic and are well worth whatever they charge. So much better than going the fix and re-paint route when possible.

Please keep us all posted as to how it gets resolved.

Contact a few high-end car dealers in your area (McLaren, Mercedes, Lambo, etc.) and ask them who they use. Likely an "independent" PDR person. Go.

I wouldn't pay more than $150-$200. My guy scans the entire car when I visit, and takes out stuff I missed.

It's magic.

There's no way a PDR of that damage would cost under $200. Try more like $300-$500 to fix that....BUT...that's still hundreds to thousands less than a body shop would charge to pound out or replacement plus painting the fender and blending.

As body shop costs rise...so do PDR costs.

That dent is a nothingburger to a seasoned PDR person. Nothing. Burger. if anyone is paying more than $200 for that less than half hour job... well, you know. PT Barnum.

My passenger side door was clipped by some ass-hat. Bodyshop clocked it in at ~$2K. Took a few pictures... sent it to my PFR guy (yeah, I have a PDR guy). $275. The damage was far worse than the OPs damage. Took my guy .75 hour. He then proceeded to scan the car correcting **************** I didn't even notice. Yeah.. that's a nice hourly rate... but I was more interested in the result. Aaaanddd... he polished it off looking like it hadn't been touched.

So... way. ;)
