I agree. I'm not sure what mechanism the Porsche mirror uses but if it is the liquid / gel the stuff can be pretty nasty I unedrstand and might stain your interior if it leaks. Maybe you could post some pictures, if you scrap it I'd be interested in having a look inside to see what has happened.
