986 Service manual / wiring diagram

Which manuals are you using as service manual (checks / repair procedures / torque specs etc.) and as wiring diagram?

Right now I am mostly looking for wiring diagrams which do not seem readily available. It would be good to find something which also contains other service / repair information.

Obviously there is the Bentley manual which is highly listed, but poorly available in the Netherlands (seems out of print as well, second hand for high prices). Any good alternatives? Printed would be great, digital would be ok.

Porsche stopped publishing this type of technical information in 2004, switching to an online digital subscription service that is anything but cheap. While there were 13 volume service manual sets prior to 2004, they were also expensive (the single OBD II manual was nearly $2K when first released) and now very hard to find since they are out of print. The Bentley may be your only realistic option.

I found complete wiring diagarams for up to 1999 and 2000-2001 on:

Grant, I think you got the URL slightly wrong, this one works. Did you buy the manual from there? I had found it in the past but it seemed too good to be true so I shied away from buying it.

When I gave the address above I just took it from the watermark on the document. The actual address is this
http://p914-6info.net/Boxster_Manuals/986%20Group%209%20Circuit%20Diagrams%20From%2000.p df
The above link looks like it has a space in the file type pdf, but it works for me like that.

Got it, I think I have the one already. I was interested in if anyone had actually bought the manuals from the workshopmanuals site.

Thanks all,

I downloaded the document in the link and that seems good info for sure. I also paid one of the workshop manuals sites (can look up which one) a small fee for the full 986 diagrams (different models / options etc.). Not really comfortable with that as I doubt those sites are legal.

But more importantly it does seem like I can get a hold of a new Bentley manual for about the same prices as the second-hand ones are asking. Pretty steep, but I guess it is worth it with the projects still to come.

Guess what I got for Fathers day?

YESSS.... The Bentley Manual. Good stuff, thanks all !
