$1200 for 15000 miles maintainance??????
Um, ok there is a slight chance I did not hear the number right because the phone was cutting off but I am 95% sure the service manager said that they do 130 checks and stuff like that for $1200?
I definitely want some stuff checked but I dont want to pay so much. For example I dont mind paying for oil $80 or even $100 even though I know its a ripoff I'd rather have my mind clear. Am I going crazy? |
I think he meant your 15K service is $1200. Which probably includes oil change, flushing your brakes, air and pollen filters, and checking everything else.
I believe I got a similar quote when I was at 15K miles. He said I would have to leave it for the day. At $160 per hour and the cost of parts it seemed wrong but right if you know what I mean. |
Yeah thats what I meant. Reaching 15k in my car...
Damn so much................. Might have to bite the bullet. *starts saving some money* :barf: |
well you can have the oil changed and brakes flushed(which is a yearly thing). And do the air filters yourself.
Ask for the quick inspection (couple of hours instead of all day), the ppi which people get prior to buying a p car. That should be about half the cost they quoted and will give you a little more piece of mind. The Boxster is not a maintenance heavy car as many think and the dealer wishes it was. |
Tell the dealer you'll pay the money if you can watch....
I'm guessing if you don't, they will complete the job in less than an hour. |
I would do some more checking around. That sounds waaaayyyyy too high. My 45k maintenance cost $2200, but that included new brake pads and sensors, replacing a bad power window regulator, worn out sway bar links and a bad rear wheel bearing. My 60k service was routine and cost $888. Of course I did not go to the dealer, but to RUF Auto Center since they have the best Porsche techs in Dallas.
|
Wow, that price is almost funny. I completed my 15k service in about an hour for about 150 dollars.

Definitely seems high. I take my car to the dealer for maintenance, and I paid $500 for the 45k service (which is essentially the same as the 15k) and $800 for the 60k service (which consists of a few more items than the 15/45k). And even still, I think those numbers are probably high due to lack of competition in the area.
You should shop around and find a better deal. |
My 15k service was $530 at the nearest dealer. And that included flushing the brakes - not part of normal 15k, but I had it at the 2 year point. $325 was labor.
Same quote from dealer I bought car from. |
