Did I get ripped off?

I bought that GT3 bumper and was told it was OEM, but its seeming likes its not. It seems like fiberglass. There are no license plate holes ( i guess a good thing) and there isnt a tow hole. There is fiberglass weave on the inside too. It looks like a good bumper though, an EXACT replica to say the least (the air intake vents look perfectly contoured to the air intake vents on the radiators, all tabs look correct, and looks good overall). I paid 400 for it, is that still a good deal for a fiberglass bumper? Buyer beware I guess.

If you were told it is OEM and it's not then you don't have to pay for it. Did you already receive it? Did you buy it off eBay?

Not ebay, just from this board, Ya, I got it. Heres some pics, First is the bottom inside, second is the inside vents, third is the weave.

I can see the fiberglass in your pictures. There is no standard meaning for OEM. The price is good for fiberglass, so if you like it put it in.

I guess the acctual wording was authentic, so who knows what that could mean. An authentic replica is authentic in the sense it acttualy exists, but not the word I would use to describe a bumper...

Put it on and see how it fits. Fiberglass is a ******************** to make "perfect". There are too many variables with fiberglass; two "identical" pieces are not identical at all. If you put it on and fits then keep it, if not see what you can do to get your money back.

Good advice, I might fit it on tomorrow and see. Its been on 2 different cars so it must fit somewhat. We will see how well soon.

I put it on today, looks good besides im gonna get it repainted. There arnt any weird gaps and stuff, but the sidemarkers fit in there like crap. I hope they dont fly out when im driving, I have no idea how I could fix them, but I will ask the body shop that will paint them. Ok, heres the deal, I saw some tubes when I took the bumper off that were where the 3rd radiator would be. They were connected to some junction and looked like that was all. Here are some pics of the finished product (kinda) and those tubes, one was white and one was black. Im thinking they go to the third radiator (which isnt there) and I would not have to buy any extra hoses or tubes if I bought a radiator. Did I get lucky, or are they for something else.

If someone advertises OEM, they should always be able to provide the part no. so that you can check it with Porsche..there is a seller on ebay who sells replicas for that cost and advertises as "GT3 style" rather than OEM, with no part no. provided. Good Luck.
