Tech Guy! I bought a new machine (Velocity Micro) with Vista and it seems Vista is a memory whore. I have 2G of memory but 35% is used with nothing open (and there isn't much running in the background). Do you recommend going to 4G of memory for Vista. Just Curious.

Dr. Burton... I answered your question on TV this morning :-)
http://www.myfoxhouston.com/myfox/pages/ContentDetail?contentId=2728538 You'll notice a little something special in the background, too. ;-) |
That is too too cool!! But you didnt use the term "memory whore" on the broadcast. ;)

Doug, you present yourself on-air to be much older than you really are. No wonder they chose you for the job. You do a great job. And I loved the 986 on the monitor in the background!
I'm gonna think up a real good question so I can get my name on the air too! |

Been here for awhile, time to say hi
OK, I have been lurking here for awhile & it is time to introduce myself. I got a 2000 986 in March '03. It had 3000 miles at the time (dealer story: one of many that were collected by ex-marine.... never saw bad weather... garage queen). It has basically been my daily driver since. Never had a serious problem with the car. Mods I have completed:
Replaced top with GAHH glass (most serious mod needed b/c of tear in plastic) summer (18") & winter (17" original) wheels/tires Replaced HU with Alpine with Sirius & iPod connect Rear speakers Replaced all stock speakers Aluminum e-brake 3 spoke steering wheel clear bra TT front bumper I have to thank everyone here for info on the car & how to do alot of these things myself. OK, the 18" are Moda R6 and are bright silver, not chrome. If I would have know of Wheel Dynamics at the time I would have bought the 5 spoke Carrera's from them, but these looked close to me. Gotta say after reading all the track talk I want to get out there, however I would fail the broomstick test w/o a problem (I am 6'3" and my head w/o helmet is above the rolbar). I have been considering adding HP to the car for my next mod. However, it has worked perfectly since I bought it & I don't want to 'F' something up that is dependable. So I am considering the Porsche Driving Exp in Alabama with my next bonus to test my abilities in the P-car, b/c I am sure that I could get more out of it as is. Some pics included, and the new delimiter on the $ spent for the 986. Thank you all. |

24 years too late for those 944 rip-off fender flairs. Too little too late for that little wing on that corrola-esque 4-door...zzzzzz

One of me, and one of my beloved... Haha! :D

Here is mine
New picture of me and my gal....
I love the black cars...... |
@Kraker... That's an old picture. Still got the ugly yellow under the headlights though. Can't find a cheap way to do it other than actually buying clear/smoked healights for like $1K! I'll let you know about this Sunday.
