986 2.7 engine vibration around 3K rpm

Hello

My 2001 base boxster 5 Spd. has an engine vibration around 3000 rpm. This is felt mostly during deceleration. I have replaced the front engine mount and both transmission mounts. Clutch was replaced at 133Km, flywheel was not replaced. Car is at 160Km now. All tires are new and perfectly balanced.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It's not a bug, it's a feature!

Generally speaking, "they all do that". Some have reported that playing with the muffler mounting has made a difference. My 03 has been doing it since I bought it 17 years/165k miles ago, and I've long ago stopped noticing.

FWIW

Mine does the same and i have 240km on the clock. I like it as it feels more rough.

I would say - dont bother

You could obtain a Durametric and read the cam deviations. That may provide some insight.

The vibration on my 2001 base model stopped after I completed this project:

Most likely the dual mass flywheel.
