WP, Thermo, and then Coolant flush?

Bought a 97' base Boxster with 100K, and I'm going to do a new WP, thermostat, and a thorough coolant flush. Not sure what kind of coolant is in there right now, but it's not pink.
My question is, does the order in which I do all this matter? Drain system, replace parts, flush with water, drain again, and then add new coolant as final step? Am I overthinking this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know that you need to flush with water - I suppose if you wanted to make sure EVERY LITTLE BIT of the old coolant got out, you could, but you are draining from the lowest point on the car, so you should get most all of it. Anything that is left should be sufficiently diluted in the new coolant.

Also, original coolant in a 97 is likely yellow/green.

Thanks very much.

If I can safely dodge a second fill/drain that makes life easier for sure.

I’d flush it with distilled water if you are planning on not using the factory anti freeze; the factory fill is well known to “not play well” when mixed with some aftermarket stuff………….

Thanks Jeff. This was a concern of mine as I don't really know what's in there. A distilled water flush it is then.
Any thoughts on using the Liqui Moly coolant flush?
And I was considering using the Zerex G40. Good as the Porsche?

Really don’t know, we only use the factory fill.
