Losing Power After Removing Key from Ignition

Hello everyone, I am having a slight issue with my 2003 Boxster S.

A few months ago, I repaired my Seatbelt which required me to disconnect the battery, so I'm not sure if it's related.

Anyway, to my issue. When I remove my car key from the ignition, my car loses power (door panel lights do not turn on, both trunks cannot be opened, the interior light does not turn on and most importantly, I cannot lock the car with the key fob).

Would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks in advance!

The ignition switch is a common source of odd electrical problems. I recommend that you search "ignition switch" and determine whether someone else had the same symptoms and resolved them by replacing the switch.

Good luck.
