Bumper upgrade

I've been looking at updating the look of the front of my car. I know the 996 99-01 stuff fits, but what about the 996 02-05? I know the headlights are different on the 02-05 ones.

The question is, will the bumper and headlights fit off of a 02-05 996? I already need to upgrade the headlights so that is not a huge deal. From looking at pictures, it looks like the bumper and lights are the only thing that is different.

Thanks,
David

That is what I was wondering. I wasn't sure if the fenders were the same or different. From pictures, it looks like the fenders are the same.

i soo would do it, if i had the money. but the car in itself has a different style with these front headlights(as much as i hate them too). just change the front bumper, and as long as you have the xenons it will look good. like an old school gt3. i personnally love the gt3 front bumper, great look on the boxster.

the fenders are not the same! if you grab an excellence magazine, they have a bunch of companies selling 997 conversions for the boxster. i think it's about $8000.00. you can even put the 997 bumper on the boxster with the old style lights. but that looks really bad.

I've seen the 997 conversions, and I know those fenders are different. I just wasn't sure about the 02-05 996. I can't imagine them redesigning the fenders as well. I thought the facelift they did was only to the bumpers and the lights.

I saw this conversion up close the other night in a parking lot of local night spot.
Looked pretty nice, I'm guessing the owner works or knows someone that works in the autobody business. Lots of them in this town I was in.
I would say that its not really a total transformation and the average non-Porsche person would hardly notice the difference between a facelifted Boxster and one with a GT3 Front bumper and skirting. If anything it looked weird to me because it looks "front end heavy". Like if you put a 911 in compactor and pushed in and flattened the rear.
So yeah not worth $5,000K in my opinion unless you were repairing a front end damaged Boxster.
