Need Suggestion for Tiptronic Transmission.

I posted last summer that my tiptronic transmission was on its last leg. Transmission is full of filings and it slips under hard driving. Well it's time to do something about it before it blows and takes some extra parts with it. For the three weeks I have searched every web site looking for a rebuild without any luck. Ebay, Amazon, etc. Here in Utah there is only one dealer who will even attempt a rebuild but his cost was absolutely out of question. I think he was trying to make me buy a brand new one. Dealers! The sites I've found are all back on the East Coast. Cogs and Cogs, Industrial transmissions. I do know the cost of a rebuild and I'm willing to pay it. I'm hoping you guys will have some idea of how I can solve my problem with some good and trustworthy people who can help me find a used or rebuilt transmission for my 1998 Boxster.

I had my 98 Tip fail on me a couple/few years ago. Blew a seal.

Did a lot of research finally finding Specialized Porsche, LLC in Riverside, CA. Sam is the owner... and he a great guy. Check out his litle website.

He removed and replaced, but sent out the tran ny for a complete rebuild. Long story short... it's been ~2 years and tran ny is running stong. Total for the rebuild including R&R was ~$4,200. If you send him your tranny likely it would be less than that. 1 year/12K warranty.

Good luck.

Dude!

It was exactly like that. Coincidentally, I wore that same suit.
