Convertible top control 98 Boxster

My dash control button for lowering convertible top is sunken in the dash, how do I recover and resecure the button?

Pry the cover with the 3 switches off with a plastic pry tool. At this point you can figure out if you can just push the switch back in or if something broke and you need a new plate to hold the switches.
