Before you take stuff apart, check if there is some peace of wood or gravel stuck bitween brake dust shroud (metal sheet behind the disc) that would be rubbing between the disck and this shield.

Another could be that some loose item from ground hit the same shield and bent it slightly (or shop did during some maintenance work) to allow it to scrape slightly on the disc.
