New 911 spy shot
Looks like the new 997 was taken for N-ring trip.
looks like the Turbo grills have been added and the front has a bit more more of rake/slope. Allot less VW looking me thinks http://germancarscene.com/wp-content...t-13-11-06.jpg http://germancarscene.com/wp-content...t-13-11-06.jpg ^ Rear end is not to my liking. Note the "duct tape" over the tail lights, looks kind of cheesy CrossFire-ish. A big step down from the very nice looking 997 rear end. |
I smell a slant nose limited edition which will cost a lot more... :troll:
|
More derivative styling. Boring to me.
I prefer the Box lines, always have. |
yeah everytime i see the vw's i soo see the porsche turbo bumper.
didn't they just re-style the 911! |
back looks weird to me without a big wing, not the one that comes out
|
I think the 987 bumper looks really good on the new 911. I like it...hopefully they flare the sides out a little more.
|
Looks like the old 997 to me. These "changes" are not even incremental -- more like oscillating.
Porsche should just offer the Box/Cayman with the 2.7, 3.4, 3.6, 3.8, and TT engines as options and allow the market to kill the 911 butt-heavy hoopla already. Z. |

I agree! What is it about the Box lines that make them so appealing??!! |

It's low and wide looking. Looks like it is ready to pounce. Exactly like a sports car should. |
The changes in the picture seem minimal, as expected. However, contrary to most of the posts here, I love the look of the 911. I think it is better looking than the Boxster, especially the back end. The Box back end looks like the front of a car, is it coming or going phenomenon. I have always been a fan of the 911 though, so shouldn't be a surprise that I continue to like it - bigger, beefier, more aggressive, etc..
I want one now! Disclaimer: I love my Boxster and think it looks sharp, just think the 911 is a step better. |
here's pix of their upcoming sedan.

That is SCHWEET! That by far is the best 4 door I have ever seen. I really like it. Anybody know what the proposed powerplant is going to be?
|
I think it looks very good..albeit very similar to the 997. The side/front profile is perfect for a 911 I think. The 911 only looks really good as a coupe though...the cabrio version looks like a bathtub with a big butt and not as good as the boxster imo.

Initially the front-engined “family” Porsche will come on the market with an 8 cylinder 350hp engine and/or with a biturbo engine delivering 560hp. A lesser costly version will be powered by a 3.5 litre 300 HP fuel engine which is already being used in the Cayenne, four-wheel-drive is standard equipment. The top-of-the line Panamera gets the 10 cylinder 700hp engine coming from the Porsche GT. |

....And the MSRP for the Standard 3.5L 300HP bare bone edition is looking around 80K I bet.
|
That will teach them to spy on the new 911!!!

I thought they were re-doing the GT to a 900 HP engine.
