So if not a Box, what else is available?

In a previous thread: http://986forum.com/forums/boxster-general-discussions/8248-wanna-buy-but.html

MNBoxster states, "It's an OK top-down cruiser, but disappoints if you try to make it anything more. A lot of people praising it's merits don't really have any other experience with other true sports cars".

So I'm curious, what else is available in the $30-45k price range that is better, cheaper to maintain and more reliable than my 2002 S? I've had a Miata and while fun to drive, at this point I want something with a little more substance. Along the same lines, the S2K is just a little too small for what I want now. A Lotus Elise is too bare bones. I don't like the looks of Z4s. I'd consider a Corvette. What else is out there? I'm especially interested in what MNBoxster recommends!

Thanks.

I drove a friends M3 soft top today, that was quite a car, seems like you get more for your money when compared to Porsche...not that I would swap...but I did notice that more people wanted to race me!!

a motorcycle is the ultimate visceral experience for me. relatively low cost too.

I like the fact my boxster is a great top down cruiser. But I use it as an everyday driver and often in heavy traffic. On the weekends its great for cruising.

but my motorcycle has an anabolic effect on me...LOL

grunt....grunt.....(thumps chest)

Yes, if you want a physical rush, nothing beats a cycle for the money!

I love my Buell!

I had a brand spanking new 2004 6 speed Corvette coupe.....very fast...easy to maintain...handles great...the C6 looks like even a more complete car...and can be had for high 30's for a nice 05.

no bull**************** pastic rear window splitting issues like I have with my 01 (happened after less than 30 days of ownership
