Your opinions on the gay penguins

Unless you live in a cave you have heard the story of the gay penguins right? Would you want your kid to read a book about gay penguins? I dont think I would. Im not afaraid of gay penguins but I dont think its proper to subject kids to this material. What about you?

Ok, I probably watch the news too much. Where are you from by the way? The story goes something like this....There is a book that small children are reading in school about a baby penguin with two dads. To me its kind of weird to have kids read about homosexual behavior in elementry school. Im not homophobic or anything like that but come on do they need to be taught this? The book is based on two male penguins from a zoo that raised a baby penguin so it really happened. I dont know if the real penguins were bumpin uglys or not.

Well, I hadn't even heard of the gay penguin book, but here's what I glean from the news overload and this thread.

We can no longer have a moment of prayer in school

We don't learn the pledge of allegiance because it says "One Nation under God"

We don't decorate for Christmas anymore and we have no Christmas parties (or any type holiday parties for that matter, because not everyone is celebrating a holiday). We now have "Winter Celebrations"

The cop killer, Mumia Abu Jamal is giving taped commencement speeches from death row

We hand out condoms in junior high "in case" a 7th grader happens to have sex

Every week or so another teacher is arrested for molesting students

andwe're now having our children read books about same sex marriage as part of the curriculum.

The whole thing makes me glad I chose to have dogs.

Perhaps the subject has become boring?

What will the media cover next?

i don't see any reason for kids to be reading books like this.

let them find out about being gay when they do, not by introducing it.

i personnaly don't agree that being gay is a part of life that kids need knowledge about. being gay is a choice, you are not born with it, if you ask me.

and for the record, if you are gay i have no problem, just like the guy on crack, not my problem. i'm not gonna be the one that tells you whats right and what's wrong!

Wow, strong position. kewl.

Gay - Straight - Otherwise So what!

The vast majority of people are PRIVATE about their sex lives.

We would have a lot fewer issues if everyone were.

Discretion is the better part of valor.

For the record, I have an issue with schools trying to teach MY CHILD about sexuality of ANY kind. That was my job, not theirs.

Stick to the subjects that ARE your purview and do a better job at THOSE subjects, please.

I thought this was a Porsche forum for things about and related to these great cars. I would hate to see this excellent board degenerate like so many other forums that talk about any and everything but their intended purpose. There are plenty of others places to get opinions about whatever. I started to write my opinion on the subject but you know what, we get enough liberal brainwashing about this kind of crap and this is one place I don't want to have to hear it.
