I found this video which provides a more detailed view of the storage alignment. I need to watch it a few times, but it appears that he has the driver’s side hump stored on the driver’s side of the trunk with the front of the hump facing to the rear of the car.

The passenger-side hump is stored on the passenger side also with the front facing rearward.

The video increases my interest in procuring a set of the OEM storage bags.
