Unidentified Plastic Object
 

Does this look familiar to anyone? Backstory:
2003 Boxster was at the shop to have the fuel sending unit and fuel pump replaced. Later, I found this in the front trunk. Not even positive it is a car part as my wife has transported a few things since the car was returned, but since they were digging around with the fuel system...
Object is plastic 1&1/2" (2 cm) long and the disc is 3/4" diameter. (1 cm) Tube is hollow w/very small notch at the top

Does not look like anything from the pump or sending unit.

Maybe a shipping/protective plug for the pump they replaced. You should ask them and then tell us.

That sounds like a good possibility as it slightly resembles a part of the sending unit...but not quite.

I will check with the garage on Wednesday and report back.

Indeed, a shipping plug was what it was.
