Heated seat question...
 

On 986 and 996 cars, with heated seats, is the heating element located in the seat back only? I have heated seats and have one seat apart and it looks like there is no element in the actual seat cushion. There is a wire that runs front to back under the seat cushion but it looks to me to be a sensor, maybe for temperature that monitors the seat back element.

It doesn't show any on the bottom on the factory parts scan for regular seats. I have a seat all apart and there's no wiring for a heated seat on seat cushion, only seat back. I'm surprised but oh well. I certainly didn't notice when I used the heat function.
