Window still not going down intermittently after microswitch replacement

Hello everyone, as the title says, my right (passenger side) window has an intermittent issue where the window does not move down the 1" or so when you pull up on the handle. It works sometimes and not others, when it is not working the red light on the interior lock button is also lit. I assumed (incorrectly) that it must be microswitch since it was intermittent. I replaced it, it worked perfectly the night that I did, but now yesterday it is acting up again.

Regulator??

I am also wondering if it is a connection / ground issue (since it is intermittent)

Thanks as always!

I should add explicitly that the window has no issues going up or down using the window control on the center console, it is only the moving up / down the 1" or so when pulling up on the door handle that is intermittently working.

My issue was cracked solder joint in the latch mechanism.

There are a lot of micro switches. Which one did you replace? It is probably the latch as elgyqc indicated. Mine wasn’t the typical cracked solder joints but the plastic arm taking a set and not engaging the micro switch there enough. Cheap enough part to simply replace.

A bad regulator will drop somewhat but not enough. If yours isn't budging at all it's not likely that. You can always pop the sure panel off though and see how loose the cables are.

This is an amazing write-up, thank you for putting it together! I think I am going to find a similar issue to yours, I noticed when I opened the door up and was reaching in to try to unplug the microswitch that jostling the wires caused the window to move up and down as if I had pulled on the door handle.

I will go through this and add anything I find to your thread to keep everything together there.

I replaced the one on the outside door handle. Definitely going to have to dig deeper.
