OBC hack - Am I part way there?

My new (to me) 99 did not come with the OBC. While I was reading about the hack, I realized that I already have the temp display. Does that mean my OBC has been turned on, and all I need is to add a switch or the 4-stalk assembly?

It is turned on. You need to come to one of our work on cars day. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1376

Great. Thanks.

When is the next work on cars day?

Tool Pants 03-06-2004 09:09 PM

As soon as we find a house with room for about a dozen cars and an understanding wife. You will have to check the renntech board since that is where I set the date.

New guy brings the beer.

If you want to do the trip computer retrofit then you will need to order the parts.

I do not remember who took this picture since it was several years ago, but I have one just like it on my film camera from a different angle.

I am thinking about the 20th in San Hose.:p

Too many Boxsters at one place will make yours feel inferior. You guys have an active club on the west side. I wish we had something like that in the north east.

It is the 20th.

I wish I was close to San Jose. I'm doing stuff the hard way now, working on my car bymyself (I've never worked on anycar before). My friend is a mechanic so he helps me when he knows what's going on. Everytime I take my car to the dealer I feel lazy because i know I can do it myself (for the most part). What kind of manuals you guys use? I bought the Mitchell Porsche manual cd and another parts' list that has 3d picsof certain parts and how they go in together (example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33649&item=2465579 058 ). The scans are not a Boxster ones but they look very similar to the Boxster ones I have. I just love to work on cars myself (thanks to my friend Jerry). I'm an RC car fanatic, I used to buy RC cars (remote controlled cars) and assemble all the parts together and stuff. I did that thaks to the detailed instructions. I'ts probably the same with real cars just a bigger scale.
