Headlight Mounting Bracket?
 

Hi all - question - In replacing my headlight bulbs, I got one headlight back on and it snapped into place. The other (driver/right side) will not lock. I can't figure out what actually holds the lights in place - is it just the metal swing arm? I can't figure out for life of me what holds the light so it doesn't fly off during braking. Something must be broken on my mounting bracket just can't figure out what??

Anyone know??

Yes, just the arm holds it in place. Some careful fiddling while pushing in thr light housing usually works. Just don't force the wrench to lock it in.

Yes its the metal swing arm. I just replaced my headlight tray recently and it's a very simple process.

In my case, the plastic arm that holds the headlight plug had broken.

The replacement tray comes with the rotating metal swing arm as part of the assembly.

I can pull model numbers if that would be helpful. I got lucky and got mine cheap from a buddy that was parting out a Boxster.

I recently pulled/installed my headlights about 4 times a piece and got pretty good at the process lol. The trick for me was to view the headlights dead on when I install them. Don't force them, guide them in. And adjust the swing arm so it's in the middle position, as in rotate it all the way one way then rotate it back the other direction halfway.

There are 2 tabs that line up with tracks on the headlight tray as well. Again, just go slow and try viewing the headlight from different angles. For example if I viewed the headlight while standing over it and trying to install it, it took me forever. If I squatted down to view it from the front, I was able to visually line up the headlight much easier.
