Boxster 986 Side Sills (Skirts)

Looking to purchase OEM Side Sills (Skirts) for my 1997 Boxster 986. I have come across left and right part numbers.

98655998402 Right
98655998302 Left

Looks like as per Porsche specs this will fit 2001-2005. However, that doesn't mean they won't fit. Does anyone have any experience in knowing if this will fit a 1997? The 1997 and 2001 have pretty much the same body.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did a quick search for the first part number (right). It appears it will fit your 97. Hopefully you can find a less costly part.

I do have experience with them. And they will fit all 986 generations.
FIRST: I totally love them. But man was that scary to install them, following the Porsche instructions 100%. One of my first DIY mods I did on my "prestine" 8 year old 986. No risk, no fun.

1. Exact fixing rail (98655998200) installment on each side is key to success
2. The kits contains 3 pre-shaped guards to locate the rail attachments sweet spot (max tolerance 1mm was my DIY goal)
3. IIRC I had to DRILL 11 special screws into each side of my Boxster...ouch...without pre DRILLING to prevent corrosion. The first screw was the scariest (now that didn't sound correct). POWER TOOL and a lot of pressure to get those suckers through the metal. AND IF I would have slipped...OMG...

And the rest was more or less easy, pour special adhesive along the rail, hook the sides skirts into the fixing rail and press downwards. And attach the screws below/bottom side. That is, when you realise, how perfect your measurements were.
