Water in snorkle area?

Had anyone desnorkled and had water intrusion, or is this paranoia?

I would say paranoia, but I'm sure there will be someone who has a story to disagree.

Doubt it'd be an issue unless you're driving through flash floodiing.

No issue having done rain soaked track days. I don't believe the snorkel is there to prevent water ingress. To me it appears to serve as an airflow facilitator this includes the cup.

Way back I put the stock one (a custom one was on there) back on to improve throttle response with a larger throttle body.

total non issue. I run a 987 airbox with a wide open vent and no water gets in there. Not to mention there are drains in the airbox

A couple of years ago I had a rough engine and brief CEL after inadvertently spraying the hose directly into my recently desnorkled vent. I am now very careful when I wash the car and it hasn't happened since.

Absolutely. The improvement on intake sound alone is with it.
