Sorry for your loss. I`m glad that you are physically okay, maybe not emotionally but that is better than getting hurt, or worst. It sucks that you wrecked the car, but cars can be replaced, a life can`t. What's the specs on the new Boxster?

rexcramer 09-02-2021 07:22 PM

That just sucks. Glad you are reasonably well? The yellow was a stunning car. Safer travels.

Seal1968 09-03-2021 01:36 AM

Glad to hear that you're OK sir.

I like the new wheels...back to a stick. Nice!

It is good information about DE events and insurance companies...everyone should take notes if you drive your car like this.

Enjoy the new ride!

New one’s a 2008 Boxster S manual. Prices are nuts for cars today!

Good to hear, and good to see, that you're doing well, Art. The car looks terrible, but you look great. Glad to hear you came out of the wreck OK. Take care. Have fun with the new car.

Nice. You telling me . Lately I've been on BaT looking and some cars are going for ridiculous prices.

ndfrigi 09-03-2021 09:28 AM

wow! But thank God you are okay James!
Sorry 987 yellow and congrats on your new 986 blue!
Stay safe James!

piper6909 09-03-2021 12:13 PM

Ouch! That's rough, James. Glad you're OK, though. Time for a new chapter with your new car. Best of luck, stay safe and keep those great vids coming!

PaulE 09-03-2021 12:46 PM

Glad you're ok and your insurance covered it. I don't think it would here in the US. Best of luck with the new one!

Stl-986 09-03-2021 12:46 PM

Oh come on...that will just buff out wont it? lol

Good that you are ok though

Did Mt Tremblant charge you for any tire wall damage? Or did your car sustain all the damage to save the wall?

Tire wall repair came to 900$. The insurance paid for it! 👍

Wow! I think your insurance north of the border is better than ours!

husker boxster 09-05-2021 05:57 AM

At COTA they tell you in the driver's mtg if you slide off the track and hit the Safer Barrier (you'd have to go thru grass, gravel, and more grass to get to the SB) the first person on the scene will not be a safety worker. It'll be a track employee with a bill for the repair of the barrier. :eek

It would be interesting to know if Locton or Hagerty would pay for barrier damage.

Haha! In my case, the track billed my club, Rennsport, who paid it. Rennsport sent me the bill which I forwarded to my insurer who paid directly to the club. :)

.....okay this gave me Old Mosport in the cold rain chills. Ahhh rain was the only way I could keep up and stay ahead but people around me not feathering the throttle over the dry line was intense while driving a car with sentimental value.

White is a tricky stage for sure. Glad you are injury free!!! I never had insurance and was unaware of the mod rule.

Just curious if you are going to track this one or going to a dedicated track machine? I

NewArt 09-10-2021 11:29 AM

I'm not going to be tracking this car. My broken L2 vertebrae, my wife, my 2 daughters, and most definitely my insurance company, have convinced me to hang up my spurs!

jaykay 09-10-2021 12:01 PM

Man I hope you did not crack the L2 at the track!

You could start Karting but I am not sure it's much safer, with up and coming race car drivers looking to prove a point. Your L2 and ribs will take a beating battling it out mid pack It's intense pure racing though...if you are fast enough you stay away from being punted off.

Hopefully you will get back to producing mod videos for the 987 crowd
