Odd taped up plug

Installed my Ben's side lever thingy to go along with his shifter, that I've had for a few years, today. Seems like its works. I'll update later but I found a wire harness taped off way back in my console. Pretty sure its factory. Had some odd tape over the contacts. Anyone know what this would be for?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1621786994.jpg

Looks like the factory cell phone connector.

That makes sense. I thought it was a factory plug from the looks of it and the funky tape it was taped over with. Thanks

It has a switched 12 volts and is very useful when installing an after-market stereo.
