Which Brake Pads for my Boxster S?
Hey all I'm looking to do my rear pads, previous owner did the fronts just before i bought the car not to long ago. I want to buy off FCP Euro since they have lifetime warrantee and i just ship back the old pads once their shot and get a new set for free I don't plan on tracking the car anytime soon but I do like to drive spiritedly on the road. My manufacturer options are: Textar ($47.19), Ate($55.99), Akebono($98.99), or Ferodo($196.03). I know there's probably not much difference between the lot, but was just wondering if anyone had any horror stories with one brand or a really good experience with another. Are the Ferodos worth the $200 price tag if I only plan on doing PCA DEs once or twice?

Put Ate pads from FCP Euro on my Boxster about 2k miles ago. I use my car almost exclusively for “spirited” mountain drives and some casual autocross, no issues. |
For spirited street and even some AX, look art PowerStop ceramics. Low cost and work great

If you're only doing rears, you should try to match up with what's on the front. You defn don't want to put ceramic on the rears and have std material fronts. Different characteristics between the two materials and will give quite different results in the cold, heat, and rain. If you want to go ceramic, either wait until you can do all four corners or do all 4 corners now.

I'm a big fan of Akebono pads.
