also, is there a way to get rid of the ugly yellow on the front of the 01 headlights? or is it that you basically have to buy new headlights?

Sorry...you'd have to basically buy new headlights (either clear halogens like the ones found on 03-04 Boxsters/99-00 Carreras), or buy the HID Litronics. Cheaper way than buying new from dealer is to just get a used set on Fleabay. They should cost you around $900 for a used set or $500 for a used set of clear halogens.

On my 01, I first bought a set of used 03 clear headlights for $450 from a fellow who upgraded to Litronics, and then ended up getting my Litronic HIDs from a friend who traded in his car, so he let me swap out my halogens for his Litronics for free. Now that's the cheapest way, of course! ;)

The Litronic HIDs really are a nice improvement over the yellow halogen beams.

Good luck.

Here is a site for a HID conversion kit, you will not get the projector but these have gotten quite a few good reviews and I am about to order a set for myself.

As for the "Yellowing Headlights" I am not sure if you are talking about the halogen beam or dis-colorization of the outside housing.

If the 2nd then what I did to clean my headlights up was use Plexus cleaner.
