Awesome GT3 RS Video
|
^ post of the week.
p.s. I started two polls on Rennlist where I asked if mid engine was an option would you go for it? One poll in the 911 GT3 forum and another poll in the 996 911 forum. got about 250 responses and the results were interesting. The non-GT3 crowd were adamant in keeping their rear engines 70% v. 30% While on the other hand the GT3/2 drivers were adamant about moving it to the middle, also about 70% for mid engine 30% for the rear. Nearly all agreed the middle was the optimal but history and image was too important to change it now. Sorta like what I hear on air cooled vs water cooled. |
Great! I'd still prefer the car that carried the camera and rode its a**. :)

How fast is the guy going at the end in the long straight? Over 120 MPH??

I wish I could down-shift like that guy.

"I wish I could down-shift like that guy."
Yep, heel-and-toe. They teach that at DE, you know. All drivers in Black and Red run groups do it. I have to say, though. It's either the driver or the car (or just me) but I had a feeling that he was doing too much unneccessary sliding, too many jerky corrections with the steering wheel, and he almost lost his butt couple of times. It also looked like the car (or the driver) behind him was faster. I love the orange, too. |
^ yeah I don't think I have ever seen on an onboard with that much wheel shuffling. I wish they would hav had on oboard of the trailing car too.

Great video !
What's up with the yellow piece of tape on top of the steering wheel ? And no helmet !!! Nick |

How many more hours till W-Day?? I'll have to look at the video again, but most of the Porsche GT2/3 cars have a yellow mark on the steering wheel to "mark" the 12:00 position. |

One week from tomorrow  My fiance left for Las Vegas yesterday for her bachelorette party. She returns Monday and we leave for Texas on Tuesday ( we are getting married in beautiful Abilene, TX ). Appearantly in Texas you need to get the marriage license 72 hours before the wedding ( Illinois is only 24 hours ) so we need to get that taken care of Wednesday even though the wedding isn't until Saturday. We are having my bachelor party downtown tomorrow night. First we are racing high speed go-carts ( http://www.chicagoindoorracing.com ), then off to the city for cake and cookies ;) Just hope I'm coherent enough Sunday to watch the Bears beat the snot out of Miami :D Nick |
Here is what the steering wheel looks like. I have no appreciation for the yellow mark at 12:00. There must be a "racing" reason:

hey man, chicago indoor racing is awesome. been there quite a few times.
