Clutch pedal "pops" back
I picked up my new to me 2000 Boxster base. Car was cheap at an out of town dealer, but near some relatives. They did a walk around and test drive. After I picked it up, I did the a rear wheel bearings, and yesterday was able to fix the top, it ended up being just a broken cable (everything seems to be moving freely otherwise).
It made the 400 mile drive home like a champ, so pretty pleased, but I noticed on fast shifts it feels like the clutch pedal releases slower then I can move my foot. If I just pump the pedal, it pops up. I assume this isnt normal, and plant to flush the fluid/bleed. Also going to look for a pinched line restricting flow. Anything else I should be looking for? |
I had a leaking clutch hydraulic line that caused similar symptoms. In my case, there was clutch fluid leaking in between the fender and body, just inboard and aft of the front wheel arch.
Could also be a worn master or slave cylinder, but I’d start by checking the line and doing a flush. |
