Quarter Panel Repair Estimate
2000 2.7 Boxster has some damage on the right rear quarter panel.
Any thoughts on how much to repair this? Doesn't seem like PDR would work, are there options that don't involve swapping in a new panel? http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1613413170.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1613413188.jpg |
Im not sure but I think quadcam and qindgao are body guys (or maybe mechanics who hate body work, not sure lol)? It may be worth asking them.

The cosmetic repair is 'easy'. With the side vent removed it looks like the original metal could be put back in shape with a hammer and dolly.
The panel can be removed by mostly just drilling out spot welds. I did a similar repair on a car myself just because I had the panel from a parts car and wanted to give it a try. Cut. Match. Weld. Fill. Prime & Paint. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/cut1613416555.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1613416584.jpg There may be some minor frame damage that would effect alignment. I'd have a good collision shop check that before doing the panel. No idea on the cost, but you could send the pic to a local shop and ask for a rough estimate. Note: I just have some cheap tools and like to play with this stuff. Not even close to a pro opinion. |
