What to do when the emergency F-Trunk release fails?

Hello everyone! I’m new to these forums and boxster ownership. This car has been an absolute blast to own, but needs some work. It’s a year 2000 cabriolet soft top in Arctic silver (not that any of that matters, just thought I’d paint a picture) and the front trunk is stuck closed. I was loading up the trunk with some luggage from a trip I went on and closing the lid was kind of difficult. Later when I tried do open it up I felt the cable to open the trunk snap. I took off the front drivers side tire and pulled the cable to open the trunk and heard a pop, but it’s still stuck closed. Pushing down on the lid and pulling the cable does not help. Does anyone have any suggestions for other ways to get into my trunk? My laptop is in there with all my work documents....

Hello to anyone that sees this in the future. I got the frunk to open! I had to get the cable from under the front drivers side fender liner and cut it, then pull the cable to get the frunk to release. I now have to replace the entire cable but at least the frunk is open. Good luck!
