can someone help me out w this convertible top?
so i took the hardtop off, and now my convertible top doesnt work.
what fuse # is it? if thats even the problem? how should i go about trying to make it work again? also the light comes on saying that my rear trunk is open, but it isnt, and i double checked it like 20 times, i cant seem to get that light to turn off, it does go away after a while tho any suggestion to this mysterious problem? the emergency brake is pulled all the way and the light also comes on saying the same thing |
djomlas,
Sorry, can't help with the convertible top, but are you sure the light that is on is for the rear trunk ? There is also a light when you start up the car that lets you know the retractable spoiler is working correctly. It will not shut off until you drive the car forward. The first day I had my Box I thought the light was for the rear trunk as well. That night I read the owners manual and found out it was for the spoiler :o Hope this helps... Nick |
i think thats it then... its probably it, when i drive off it does go off

the top relay may be loose. Its the big white block to the right of the fuse box.
It needs to be PUSHED IN all the way. Mine was shaking loose and the top wouldn't go down. I pushed it in but not all way and the windows would go down when I went over the bumps. I took it to the dealer and they tried to sell me a new one! Its not cheap ($100) and there are no returns on electrical parts. If you don't know where the fuse box is, near where your left knee would be if sitting in the passenger seat. There's a black cover with a small round hole. just pull the cover off. The other thing that might be wrong is your parking brake switch. Its a $4 part that let's the car know when the parking brake has been engaged. |
what fuse is it that has anything to do with the top in the fuse box?
i tried the relay, took it out, shook it a little, tapped it and whatnot, no luck |
