Porsche Boxster S Cupholder Problem...

Hello. I own a 2003 Boxster S and the cupholders right now will not hold very much. The cup is supported by a small plastic piece at the bottom and some thin side walls. I was curious if anyone knows of any kits i could put in the top den that are solid and can hold a cup and I don't need to worry about it.. Thanks!

Put your drink in a sealed thermos and put it away. Drink it before you drive, then again after you drive. Do not drink and drive.

...or get the Ultimate Cup Holder: https://www.ultimatecupholders.com/installation.html

From experience I can tell you those cupholders in the 2003 are useless. They will break, and when they do, a new part is expensive and used ones that aren't broken are hard to find. Then you have to disassemble the entire center stack to remove and replace it. Once I replaced mine, I bought the armrest insert from Suncoast. It's expensive for a couple of pieces of plastic and the position is less than ideal for putting your drink in and taking out while driving, but it holds a drink securely, snaps in and out without any modification to the compartment, and is easy to clean.

The Ultimate Cup Holder works great

Ultimate cupholder is fast and easy to install, works with most cups, looks ok (well made but very aftermarket add-on).

Or get the Fischer cupholder from the same vendor and spend twenty minutes mounting it to the passenger side center tunnel (no need to drill metal, 2 screws into the carpet backing will do), flush with the floor. It folds out of the way when not in use, accomodates possibly a wider variety of cups than the Ultimate, is also well made, has a built in tray that will catch minor drips and spills, and the plastic could pass for oem.

I have 2 Ultimate cupholders that take up storage space now, unless I decide to quickly add a second cup holder for a passenger on a long trip. (I only put in 1 Fischer).

IMO The Ultimate is pretty good, but the Fischer is better. ( but takes a bit more time in that it doesn't just slip in between trim pieces)
