What to do with a trashed 3.2 Case?

I still have the 3.2 M96 engine from my 2001 986 in the garage, this poor thing had over 200,000 miles on it before a rod let go. If you wish to see how bad this thing was here is a link to one of my YouTube videos on the motor tear down. https://youtu.be/h_2dEuj5efI

At this point I don't think the case is worth fixing and buying a new crank case, and rebuilding the motor.

BUT WHAT ELSE can I do with this hunk of metal?

Suggestions on what to do, maybe a cool table with wine bottles as pistons...

Brian :)

I had a very similar situation with my 3.2: see video

I gave the aluminum case to a metal scrapper who was very happy!

If you have a man cave make a coffee table out of it , use clear glass as the top .

Paperweight?

Any clue why it threw a rod? Oil pressure dropped?

Target practice.

NLS artillery. ;)

Or maybe use it for target practice as the item being projected... like putting it in a trebuchet. Hell yeah!!!

+1 on the coffee table. Perfect for the non-gender specific cave.

40 some years ago we used them to anchor mooring balls in the basin. Drain all the oil out first of course

That V12 table looks great. I don't think an M96 case has the same cool visuals.

There is a 928 block for sale on Grand Rapids craigslist that I would love the make into a table, if I had the skills.

I took a old Dual Mass flywheel to a salvage yard that buys metal in CA

I made a SBF table a while back. I like it.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1610679058.jpg

Well done sir. I think the MSRP on the Ferrari table is +/- $5,000.
