QuickJack and dropping transmission

Is there enough room to drop the manual transmission out and down while using the quickJack? Just wondering if it gets up high enough.

Hi Howdy, check this link:

Engine Drop - 99 986 - Quick Jack successfully use to drop engine

Looks like it'll work.

more than enough room.

I just dropped the automatic, and it's bigger. Note that with the tip, the standard procedure calls for you to remove the exhaust and the rear bumper, once that's done there is a ton of room. Note that in the picture below, the QuickJack is only in the "halfway up" position...

I used the extensions in the link that porschefan76 posted and it gave me plenty of room to lower the transmission. I probably would have had enough room without using the extensions as well. I also used a low profile trans jack from Harbor Freight which helped to stabilize the trans while lowering and moving it at the same time.

Thanks for the info guys. QuickJack is/was having a sale, so decided to pick one up especially since I can use it with my other two cars. Was hoping it would be tall enough so I can change out the clutch and IMS in the next few months and it looks like it will work.
