2.5L 5spd transmission differences?

Hi folks,

Just destroyed the 5spd MT on my 99 2.5L. Doing some searching shows that 97-98 has one part number and 99 has another. We’re there gearing benefits or differences between the years? Any year that has advantages?

Also, are the quaife (or other LSDs available) and if so where?

Thanks!

Per GBox, the transmissions become increasingly better (longevity-wise) with newer revisions, the 2.7s being the best but not geared nicely.

How much worse is that 2.7 gearing?
