996 Dome Light in 97 Boxster
 

I have seen threads talking about updating the Dome/Map light in 1997 Boxster to a newer style ... has anyone tried the 996 version with the separate map lights?
It looks light the windshield trim may have to be added also ...

996 cabrio, right? The light part alone cannot be switched?

I see you are an original owner ... that is always a good thing just knowing exactly what was done to your vehicle and not trying to sort out a used one like mine.

I was looking through threads about upgrades and found the one for updating the Dome/Map light and then I started looking further and found the one in the photo ... it shows for 911 from 1999 up to 2013. It would probably work ... I would have to swap over the infrared sensor so I don't have to have it programmed into the security system and then get the plastic header trim. The frame for the dome/map light is a little wider ... might require a little modification. I might try it down the road a bit. Need to get the vehicle on the road first.
