Replacement front radiator fans
Been dealing with slight overheating after long idling. Switched relays around with no effect. Turning on A/C and recirculate does not turn on fans. Have witnessed drive side fan come on for a minute at most.
Thinking I need to replace fan ballists and probably fans too. I see feedback on non Porsche fans that they do not come balanced and have quite a bit of vibration especially in high speed mode, Any advice is very welcome 🙏 |

Also what temps the fans are triggering at?? Bentley book says: Low speed kicks on above -206.2 Degrees F or A/C switched on. High speed kicks on above 215.6 Degrees F . So if they don't kick on with low speed when you turn on the A/C it could be the ballists |

Nope those temps are the spec. for the Boxster. Taken from the Bentley service manual Right were my 2000S kicks the fans on at. |

That is why I asked in a previous post if you had an OBDII scanner to read your live data. The ECU/DME sees the temp the temp sensor is reading not the temp the gauge on the instrument panel is showing;) |
If it doesn't turn on with A/C, but turns on high when hot, then it is most likely either the ballast resistor, or the relay. If it doesn't turn on ever, then it is most probably the fan itself.

When I had issues with my fans I used a jumper in the relay socket to figure out one fan wasnt working at all the other was only on 1 speed. Pedro has a good diy that is what I used as a guide.
