Debris in gas tank

Hi all, Ugh....I was putting gas in my 99 boxster from a 3 Gall can. I used a plastic turkey baster to extend the funnel I was using. Apparently the baster was not gas proof and began to break down and a piece broke and I believe fell into the tank. It was a piece of plastic the size of a pea. I assume it will dissolve and nothing will happen. The tank is half full. Any suggestions. Thanks v

I wouldn't sweat it. If it makes it out of the tank the filter will catch it.

My take. Fill the tank full. If it is going to dissolve, the additional gas will dilute the mixture.

That was my thought exactly....dilute with a full tank. V

If you're thinking of that route I'd run a test to see what happens. break a piece of the baster and put in a jar of gasoline. If it dissolves and disappears okay, but if it becomes a gelatinous blob then your injectors might not survive.

Funny....I was planning on doing that as well. Not so funny....just had my injectors serviced! Thanks V
