Cluster Compatibility

Will the cluster from a Boxster years '00-'04 work in a '98?

97-2000 and 2001-2004 for the 986. 99-01 and 02-05(?) for the 996

Thanks guys...So the easy answer is, the '01-'04 Boxster cluster will not work in a '98 Boxster.
