Size of nut in the rubber well nut?

I'm looking for the size of the nut inside the rubber well nuts (part number 999-500-092-00) that hold the 2 side plastic trim pieces near the firewall under the hood. There are 2 of them (one for each side). I know that I can buy them online, but was hoping to get them faster/cheaper. If someone knows, please let me know.

Thanks.

Tony

Don't hold me to it, but I think I recall them being 5mm. Replaced mine with stainless knurled wide head bolts and new rubber well nuts. I think I cannibalized the well nuts from some motorcycle fairing screw setup. Was a while back so memory may be off.

you can find suitable replacements at a local hardware store (like ACE, TrueValue or DIB) in their MRO open stock bins.

Good luck :)

This is what I was looking to do, but in a lot of cases the bolt gauge at the store is either destroyed or missing. I was hoping to know going in that it's a M5 or M6 that I need.

These were available at our local independent HW store. Nothing special nor were they pricey.

Most good hardware stores will have metric nuts and bolts you could use to verify your size.
