What is this cable and purpose

Asking as I'm looking to know its function and possible cause of friction between it and the DOF oil line which rest on top of the cable. Would not want to have this cable cut into the oil line over time. Oil line does not seem to be able to be positioned as to avoid contact of the cable.

Itīs there to keep the engine from crushing you in the case of a frontal impact. At least thats how I have understood it.

In that case the oil line will be the least of my concerns. Thank you.

Yep, its a safety cable for the engine. You could try wrapping it in a rubber tube of some kind to avoid rubbing the oil line.

Perfect. I was going to slice a hose and tiewrap in place. But didn't think of of those wraps you pointed out. Great ideas here. Thanks.
