Hi, I just picked up my first Boxter last Sunday ...

It's a 2000 S model with 26K miles. I paid $24K for it, which isn't too bad. I am still getting used to it, it seems to be an awesome machine and so well balanced!! I've owned an 87 Carrera coupe in the past and this Boxter is so much more refined feeling in just about every aspect, I think I will like it quite a bit.
I'm glad to find a forum like this !
Here are some pics I took of it !

Welcome aboard and congratulations Streak! You're right, you've got an awesome machine in your hands. The car never stops impressing me with its engineering and handling. Good move finding 986forum.com too. You'll find lots of help with your inevitable questions here. Good luck with your Boxster.

Thanks. Actually, the rear shot is in my driveway and the others are about a mile down the road Ohio in the fall is pretty cool .... too bad it doesn't last long enough. I was hoping to take a few more shots this weekend, but we had strong wind and rains and many of the leaves gave it up
This car is really amazing the way it feels out on the road, I love it so far !!

I will have to do some service on it before winter sets in. I need to find out about the antifreeze and then change the oil out too. I am sure there is some good advice here on those subjects. |

Welcome to the BoxS ter family, Siliverstreak! (hint hint)
I like those wheels as well. You don't see many Boxsters wearing those shoes and it makes the car unique.

Nice car and an excellent deal. I bought a similar non-S and paid only about $2750 less. I'm jealous. When I was looking last winter, an S seemed like it would require a $5000-8000 premium. I'm going to ask you to buy my next car for me.

Welcome and come by often to share stories, questions, and feedback. How does the "S" compare to the 87 Carrera in acceleration and handling dynamics?

			Very nice find.
I recently started looking for an 00-02 S in or around OH and I would have probably bought that one also if I had saw it.
Do you mind me asking where you found it at and if you came across any good deals like this one
Pat

Hi everybody, first of all, thanks for the nice comments and about the rims, at first I was disappointed they were not the Turbo style, but now I see these are somewhat rare, and they do look cool.

Yeah, the license plate on the front is coming off..... I just had to be legal for Echeck inspection.

Pat, I found this in autotrader and he had it listed for $29,000. After checking the car out a few different times and comparing the competition, he dropped the price down to $25,500. I then found a car just as nice looking with two tone interior and with only 17,000 miles for $26,000. I was going to break the $25,500 deal and go for the other car. The guy then dropped the price to $24,000 and I decided it was the better deal seeing that the RMS had been already replaced. The amazing thing is, people (who don't know Porsches) thinks it is a brand new car because it is so clean.

This is the time of year to strike up a good deal in Ohio, that's for sure. Just make sure to check that rear main seal on a 2001 or older.
