Alternate Jack Point
My new used Boxster has a pretty bad case of wheel rash on the right rear. I contacted Wheel Collision Center in PA and they can fix it. So now I'm thinking I have to get that wheel off and shipped out.
I know about the jack points shown in the owner's manual, but once I have it jacked I need to place a jackstand. Does anyone have a tried and true suggestion for the second jack point? For future reference, any suggestions for the front as well? Thanks in advance. |
I take it you will not be driving the car while your wheel is being refinished. Just put on the spare?
These are the places I use for a jack stand. Rear. http://img15.photobucket.com/albums/...nt1_with_x.jpg Front. http://img15.photobucket.com/albums/...nt2_with_x.jpg |
i placed mine just next to the brake disc....
After speaking to a porsche rep its the best place the boxster can hold on the brake disc. But you might as wheel put the red spare wheel on. I had all my wheels off while getting new tyres |
Tool pants, is there anything about boxsters that you don't know? I don't think there is.

TP, a belated thanks for that info. It works like a charm.

which jack point do you use if you want to change the spark plus?

Same rear point for a jack stand.
