Thanks for the site, first of all.
I have a 2000 S with 18" wheels; even before I changed over the stock set-up (NOT the 030 option) to H&R sport springs, the ride was "sporting" -- not harsh or jarring, and now that it's a little lower and the H&Rs are progressive in their compression, I would say the suspension is even better. Because there's less sidewall flex with 18s vs. 17, turn-in seems a little crisper. Not for a moment do I regret going with the 18s.
Do you have the opportunity to drive a Boxster with 18s? That might help with your decision.
