passenger door NOT locking ..no alarm light .

hey Guys ,
running into an issue where I'm able to lock the driver side door with the key ( key fob has never worked ) was always able to unlock / lock set the alarm with the key till NOW ..

I m only able to unlock/lock the driver side door NO alarm light or any beeps what's so ever
the passenger side door staying UNLOCK

few months ago the driver side door key would just turn NOT lock at all so I ended up replacing the sleeve that breaks in the key cylinder/tumbler

, put it all back together it worked I could hear the alarm and light doors would both lock - as of a week ago not any more NO PASSENGER LOCKING , ALARM LIGHT OR ALARM BEEPING

I m also wondering if something came disconnected since I had also replaced the driver side window regulator and drop down window micro switch

any one has experience this issue any ideas ? I looked at all the fuses none found broken

When you manually lock the car, do the instrument cluster and the interior lights turn off? If so, I have the same problem. However my car will generally lock after it sits for a day or so. After 30ish minutes of drive it’s back to not working. I replaced the passenger lock assembly, but no luck.

wow

so somewhere i had read if you turn the key five time to the right (locking side ) then back to center/mid sometimes it will reset the system it WORKED .. IS WORKING

have you try that ??if NOT give it a shot - as far replacing the passenger side lock I had also read about that not convince that would be the fix .. also disconnecting the battery for a few minutes

if you have Durametrics or can get your local fellow member that has it you should able to pull any faults in the system

Mine started doing that. Sometimes it took a dozen key rotations to get the electric locks to activate. Sometimes I gave up. Eventually the driver door became dificult to open. I replaced the driver door lock/catch mechanism with a VW part number and low and behold my lock situation improved. It now takes precisely three key rotations to engage the locks and weirdly the windows go down when I unlock.
