I just removed my center console on a 2003 Boxster S, manual transmission. It was found laying on the carpet (which us under the console) near the e-brake to the rear of the console. I have checked the PET and I do not see it in the diagram associated with the center console.

Everything seems to be working, e-brake, door for console, etc. so any help would be most appreciated in identifying what this part is.

Ashtray lid mechanism frictiony-latch-gear-thingie.

Rip out the ashtray and replace with this: Porsche Center Console Shelf

+1 This is one of the first mods I did after purchase. Smoking is :barf:
