2003 Boxster S and trickle charget

Can I safely plug in a Porsche trickle charger into the cigarette lighter on my 2003 Boxster S? I use the charger that way on the 2007 GT3 but need confirmation that it will also work that way on the Boxster.

Yes. However I have heard people who disable the socket so it's switched only which renders the battery tender useless there. If this is not your case then you're good to go.

Yes you can

Yes you can I've been doing it on my 2003 S since 2003, and I just installed only the third battery this car has ever had 1 year ago.

I run it between the windshield and the frunk. Attach directly to the battery, then close the hood and plug into an electric socket. Done.

+1 ditto on direct connection to the battery. I use my Schumacher charges all my vehicles if they are not being driven for more than a few days.

I have been using my Porsche Maintainer battery charger anytime I won't be driving it for 3 days or more for the last 18 years. it plugs into the lighter socket.

Been using Porsche Battery Maintainer, in the cig lighter, on my 03. Anytime I pull into my garage I plug it in. Only on my second battery, no problems.
